Nothing like an imaginary robbing murdering kidnapper to mix it up a bit

Posted in Not necessarily a waste of time but pretty close at 5:22 pm by Missy

A few nights ago Angel decide to party hardy all night. Well not really. More like she woke up crying every hour. It was her party and she could cry if she wanted to.

Anyway every hour or so I would go in and comfort her and pop that pacifier back into her mouth. Normally she’ll lose her pacifier during the night and she sleeps right through but for some reason on this night it bothered her to lose that silly thing. I do believe she was warning us.

About 2:00 am I had just finished our hourly ritual and was heading back to bed when I heard it. Something fell. Or more like someone fell. There was someone in our house. Or in our garage. I couldn’t really tell where it came from but it was a very loud noise and I knew for sure we were being robbed. I run over to Hubby and say “Did you hear that noise?”. He pretended like he didn’t but I could tell he had. There was fear in his eyes as he rolled them at me.

You may not be aware that we have three dogs. Three amazing protective watch dogs. So protective that they snored right through the loud intruder. Hubby wakes them up and sends them out in front of him. I didn’t say anything but I was thinking, “Oh don’t send the doggies first!”. Which I do believe meant subconsciously I’d rather the robber shoot him first instead of the doggies. :-)

Under Hubby’s guidance the doggies check out the dining room, living room and kitchen. No robber. At this point one of our dogs, Charlie, comes back to the bedroom and goes to sleep. The only smart one in the family. Hubby sends the other two dogs into the basement to check it out. No robber. Hubby and the doggies continue to stake out the place, look outside, check out the garage but by this time the robber had gotten away. He was a very smart robber. Although he didn’t take anything so maybe he wasn’t so smart.

So all is well and it’s back to bed only now I can’t sleep because I’m imagining all the places the robber murderer could be hiding and thinking to myself:

“What if he’s in Angel’s room. I don’t believe Hubby checked in there. Oh no, it’s not a robber murderer, it’s someone sneaking in through Angel’s window to steal our baby. I need to get my cell phone next to me so I can call 911. But if I use my cell phone the police won’t know my address. And I won’t be able to tell them because I have to be quiet as to not alert the robber murderer kidnapper. Ya know that would be a really good news story. Everyone uses cell phones now so I’m sure that has hindered emergency responders. I think I’ll email our local news station and suggest that as a story.”

And that was the last thing I remember. Until I woke up and remembered my dream.

There was a robber. And he had a gun. And he was holding us captive. And then my brother came and used my cell phone and called the police. Very quietly. And then the robber kidnapper guy realized he had the wrong house! Silly silly man. But it was too late, the police were there and hauled him away. And then hubby, my brother and I sat down to a wonderful steak dinner.

I think this whole lack of sleep thing is getting to me.

Ah, the lack of sleep dreams! If it will make you feel better, check your cell phone settings – mine gives my location if it calls 911. That might help you sleep better in between Angel’s partying!
