18 weeks and a hair problem
I had an OB appointment on Monday of this week, I was about 17 1/2 weeks along. Just a normal check-up, nothing too major.
I’ve been gaining about 1 pound a week so total I think I’ve gained about 13 pounds already. A good friend is borrowing me all her maternity clothes and I’m in heaven. All of them fit great and FINALLY I have clothes that I feel comfortable in. I don’t know if they will all fit me when I’m 8-9 months along but for right now I’m feeling good in the clothes department.
I had great blood pressure. Hubby and I have this weird sort of competition about our blood pressure so I happily brag about that! My urine check was good which was a huge praise because I ate like CRUD over the 4th of July weekend – way too many sweets and stuff that was bad for me. I was afraid I’d get chewed out but everything was good.
FINALLY the constipation is better. Sorry to be so brutally honest with ya all. But I’m just so happy. I’ve been trying all sorts of different fiber foods and nothing has helped. Finally it seems that the latest cereal I tried is helping. I think it’s called Fiber One with Honey Clusters. Doctor also said for me to stop taking my pre-natal vitamins which are prescribed with extra iron and just take a regular vitamin.
We’re praying about whether to use the Bradley Method or Lamazze for delivery. Doctor doesn’t have a preference either way. Hubby’s not real sure. And I guess I’m not real sure either. The same friend that borrowed me the maternity clothes used Bradley and couldn’t have enough good things to say about it. Anyone out there familiar with Bradley Method?
Now on to the hair problem. I’ve had long hair for the past 10 years or so although I think I did cut it pretty short once during that time (and hated it). A few weeks ago I cut it about shoulder length but I just don’t like it and I have three issues:
I’m always hot
Therefore I always put it up in a bun or ponytail
And Belle is always pulling it
So I’m thinking I should bite the bullet and cut it short. Not short short like I did before but shorter.
Here’s what it looks like right after I fix it.
It usually stays like this for about 5 minutes and then gets annoying and I put it up. But it’s not long enough to stay up so then it looks like this and gets in my eyes and is really annoying.
(Two observations: Notice the chore chart behind me. Ya, that lasted about 2 days. It’s time to erase that. And secondly, do I not look drugged or something? Goodness sake maybe I need more than a haircut!)
Well all that’s going to change TODAY! I have an appointment at 11:30 today and although I haven’t decided completely for sure I think I’m going shorter. Not short, just shorter. We’ll see. And Hubby doesn’t even know I have an appointment. Hee hee. Hopefully he doesn’t freak too bad! STAY TUNED
