We had the best weekend ever. Ok, maybe ever is exaggerating a little but it was pretty great.
When was the last time I said that? Like a year and 1/2 ago. I still can’t believe how great I feel and I’m so thankful that I finally feel up to doing things with my family!
A whole nother post: why do I feel so great? Is it because of my surgery? Or because I’ve been spending time in the Word and focusing on God and not worrying about things out of my control? Combination of both? Hhmmmm.
Anyway we spent Friday night cleaning because we had an open house on Saturday. I know – doesn’t sound so great, huh. Stick with me.
We spent alot of Saturday and Sunday in the van driving from place to place. But Angel didn’t mind.
Doesn’t she look so big in this picture. Oh my word I can’t believe how fast she’s turning from a baby to a little girl.
Saturday morning we went to Pat’s brother’s house to celebrate our niece’s 18th birthday!
Here she is with Caleb and our other niece’s daughter.
After the party we went to an air show that was in town. Other than the fact that we saw some really cool airplanes the best part of this part of our weekend was that it was free!
Caleb having a great time. But only because we stuffed cotton balls in his ears (he’s not so fond of loud noises).
Trying to get a picture of Angel looking at the planes. But they were really fast. So here’s a picture of Angel and Pat looking at the pretty sky.
Angel enjoying an ICEE!
Pat and the babies – enjoying a beautiful day.
Angel eating lunch. A hamburger without the bun!
After the airshow we all came home and crashed. Yahoo for naps! We then enjoyed a supper of noodles, chicken salad sandwiches, cottage cheese, leftovers and watermelon. And then got to work building the world’s tallest block towers.
Oh wait. First Caleb had some Cheerios. And his shirt actually says “I’m a Jeep Man” but that’s ok – he’s so cute he can just be a Jeep!
Ok then we built the towers! Princess and Pat had a competition to see who could reach the ceiling first. I think Pat won but only because Angel kept knocking over Princess’s tower.
Sunday after church we came home for lunch and naps and then drove out to a big water park for Pat’s work summer party. It’s a pretty spendy water park so we haven’t gone to it this summer and so it was a special treat for us and especially for Angel.
It’s quite a drive from our house, about 30 miles and so first Angel did a little shopping.
And then she kept Caleb happy by playing peek-a-boo. She’s such a good big sister!
At the water park Caleb cried the whole time and wanted to be held because the water was too cold and it was too noisy. But Angel had a blast!
We were home by about 7:00 pm. The babies went to bed and we watched the Next Food Network Star (Go Melissa!). It was a great end to a great weekend!
