Tiny talk Tuesday

The Little Drummer Boy song came on the radio and I was explaining to Angel who the little drummer boy was and why he was playing his drum for Jesus. After I got done telling her that the little boy didn’t have anything to give Jesus so he gave himself and played his drum for him she said, ‘Well that was a good idea!”

Opening presents on Christmas Eve, I opened a present from Angel. It was a bag of Reese’s chocolates. I went on and on about how I love chocolates and gave Angel a hug and kids. She looks at me, very exasperated and said, “Aren’t you going to say thank you mommy?”

A few nights ago we went to see a big light display with Pat’s mom, nephew, nephew’s girlfriend and two nieces. On the way home Angel said, “I like Krissy and Stephy (our nieces).”  I asked her why she liked them and she said, “Because I LOVE them.

This morning I was in the bathroom getting ready while the kids snuggled in our bed watching cartoons.  I said to the kids, “Ok guys, it’s time to go eat your breakfast.”

Angel said, “Mommy, I’ll think about that later.”

At the breakfast table this morning (which they finally made it to), Pat was watching me finish up this post. He said, “Maybe they should call it trash talk Tuesday.” Before I could chime in Angel said, “Daddy, that wouldn’t be nice.”   Daddy said, “Angel you’re so smart,” and Angel replied back, “Yes, yes I am.”

It WAS a good idea. Funny, but so sweet that she already knows it’s a good idea to give herself to Jesus.
