Ramona from the movie Ramona and Beezus Angel would say, “BEST DAY EVER!”
We’ve been at my parent’s for the past few days. Pat took today and tomorrow off work so we’ve made it a long weekend. We’ve been spending our time hanging out with family, playing with doggies, petting and riding the horses, doing a little fishing, enjoying great food, taking naps and relaxing.
The best part of our weekend was Easter Sunday. We all thought that Sunday seemed to be a perfect day.
~A day to celebrate and remember that Jesus is alive! No better day than that!
~Attempting to take pictures. Ok, maybe this part wasn’t so perfect…
And the kiddos with my parents…
~Before church the kids participated in my parent’s church’s Easter egg hunt. We had a great church service and amazing sermon. My parent’s church’s pastor is so humble and genuine. He spoke the truth of God’s love and the truth of our sin and need for a Savior.
~We had fun doing an Easter egg hunt and Jesus basket scavenger hunt with the kids.
~We had an amazing lunch. My brother, sister-in-law and sister did most of the cooking. We had appetizers, the most fabulous pork loin we’ve ever tasted in our life, mashed potato bake, salad, homemade bread, corn on the cob and amazing homemade chocolate pudding for dessert.
~We had great conversation about our faith, heaven, hell and Jesus’ return.
~After lunch everyone took turns riding the horses and took the dogs on a walk. It was a beautiful day!
~After horse riding and dog walking we went down to the docks and to my parent’s boat and tried our hand at fishing. We threw rocks. We laid on the docks enjoying the peace and sunshine. My parents, sister and the kids went on a boat ride. It was so amazing.
~As you already know if you read this post, our butterflies arrived!
~We enjoyed leftovers for supper and then taught my siblings a new card game, Nertz, that we had just learned from some friends. So much fun! We watched Tangled and didn’t get to bed until 11:00 pm (little toddlers included).
I hope your Easter was a blessed day too. We are so thankful for Jesus and His love. And we are so thankful for time spent with family.
