Conversation by swing

Last summer a friend gave us a playground set. Yes, gave it to us.  I would have to say it’s been one of the biggest blessings for us to receive.

(With their big brother Prankster.)

The kiddos could swing forever. But they don’t because I’m a mean momma and I have a time limit on how long I can stand there pushing them higher and higher.  And they can’t figure out how to pump their legs yet, because ya know, they are 2 and 3.

Well anyway, when I am not a mean momma and let them swing for hours a long time pushing them higher and higher, we have the best conversations.

Today’s conversations (or parts of it anyway).

Caleb: Mama. Mama. Mama. Daddy sleeping?

Me: No Bubba, Daddy is at work.

Caleb: Why?

Me: So he can make money.

Caleb: Why?

Me: So we can eat and so mama can stay home with you.

Caleb: Eat?

Me: No, it’s not time to eat yet.

Caleb: Mama. Mama. Mama. Me. Go. Work. Now.

Me: You’re going to go to work now?

Caleb: Ya.

Me: Where are you going to work at?

Caleb: Me. Me. Me. Work. On. Jeep.

Me: Really? You’re going to work on the Jeep?

Caleb: Ya.

Angel: Mama, I’m going to go to work too.

Me: Where are you going to work?

Angel: Jail.

Me: Really? What are going to do at jail?

Angel: I don’t know.

(Didn’t see that one coming.)

Angel: I’m going to work on the Jeep too Mama.

Me: That’s a good idea.

Angel: Mama, look. That Jeep.

Me: Ok, sweetie.

Angel: No, Mama. LOOK. That Jeep. (pointing to their Jeep)

Me: Yes, sweetie I see it. That will be great.

Caleb: Mama. Mama. Mama. Me. Go. Work. Now.

Me: Ok, make lots of money… (and quickly added because what type of message am I sending?)… and do your best!

Angel: Mama, I’m going to work now too.

Me: Ok, do your best!

And we kept swinging.
