Just like family

Posted on

We were so excited to get word from our God-child’s mom a few weeks ago that he, along with his brother and grandparents, would be in our town visiting family and friends.

(In case you aren’t familiar with our story and the time we spent with Omar, you can read about it here.)

I got a text from his grandma Friday night that they had a small window of time and that they could come over for a visit. Ya! The last time they were in town our paths didn’t cross and so it had been almost two years since we’d seen them.

It was such a joy getting to see them. Omar is seven now and in 2nd grade.  We just can’t believe how big he is. He and his brother are the nicest young men and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

What’s even more special to us, is that we truly consider their family a part of our family.  We are so thankful that his mom and grandparents have allowed us to continue to be a part of their lives.  What a blessing!

Angel was SO excited to see Omar. All day long she asked when they were going to get to our house. Caleb wasn’t so sure but eventually he warmed up to them.

Love these kiddos so much!

That is so awesome, Missy! I can’t believe how big he is – so handsome, too. What a great gift to still be in touch with them. But who wouldn’t want you as part of their family?? Seriously, now. 🙂 Thanks for sharing with the rest of us!
