A new hobby that will deplete our children’s college fund

Posted on

First things first.

What college fund!? Ha!

Well anyway, Pat recently started working on his RC cars. It’s not really a new hobby. When we were first married he was obsessed actively involved with buying parts and paint, fixing up the little cars, spending lots of time working on the engines and other stuff, racing the little cars, crashing the little cars and starting all over again.

A few months ago when we started cleaning out our garage Pat came upon all his cars and Caleb about freaked. And so now for the past few weeks Pat and the kids have been buying parts and paint, fixing up the little cars and spending lots of time working on the engines and other stuff. Sunday night when I was at work they finished painting the body for two of the cars and as soon as Caleb woke up Monday morning he had to bring me downstairs to show me! He’s so excited.  Next on the agenda is to start racing the little cars, crashing the little cars and then of course start all over again.

Sunday after church and lunch we all drove out to a race track near our house.

{Angel trying really hard to obey Daddy and not climb the fence.}

{Someone was a little tired.}

{In their element.}

{In our element. Cuddling and taking pictures.}

{I think he was excited about someone crashing their car.}

We didn’t stay too long at the track because it was blazing hot and we had forgotten to bring chairs. And as much as I try to support my husband’s obsessions there is only so much this old lady can take!  I’m sure we’ll be back next weekend though and probably very soon my hubs will be racing his own cars!
