400 below zero is a little bit too cold for me. What I wouldn’t give to be back in Florida. But of course, that’s not possible, so looking back at more pictures of our Christmas trip will have to do!
We got to Tampa early afternoon on Wednesday December 19th, and were staying overnight at Jim and Leana’s that night. Leana had to work so Jim was going to take us out for a fun night at the zoo. But first we hung out at their apartment and the kids got to
torture play with Lottie girl and uncle Jim.
The zoo was having a special winter wonderland event and it was very cool! The entire zoo was decorate with lights and Christmas decorations and it was so pretty. But it was a little weird celebrating Christmas and walking around without coats on. Weird, but good!
Thursday was our designated beach day! Mainly because a cold front was coming Friday (what!?!) and so it was going to be our last warm day.
The kids were super excited about the beach!
It was about an hour drive (I think) to the beach Jim and Leana wanted to take us to. The kids wanted to ride with Jim and Leana on the way there and so Pat and I enjoyed a little quiet time. Jim and Leana got to enjoy our crazy kids and also got to experience the life of small kids. Right after the last toll booth we see them pull over to the side of the road. We pass them and then pull over but were quite a ways from them. We see Leana jump out and run around to the other side of the car and get Caleb out, and take him into the trees.
Hee hee. Someone had to go potty! Hee hee!
On the road again and we got to drive over the Sky Bridge. It was so cool!
We had lunch at the Pier Restaurant, which again, was so much cooler than cool but I can’t think of any other adjectives right now. We watched a guy fight to reel in a fish for about twenty minutes. That was very
Then it was off to the beach!
It was actually kinda chilly. It was really windy and the temperature was only in the mid 70’s, but hey, we were still in Florida, on the beach, with temperatures in the mid 70’s! The water was cold so we didn’t really swim but we did wade in it and the kids played in the water a little.
It was really a great day. I took about a hundred pictures of just our time on the beach, but I’ll just share with you my favorites.
Good, good times.
