Yesterday was quite the emotional day.
At about 6:45 am I was on my way to work and I got a text from Jim that said he and Leana were at the hospital and that baby Cleo was on her way! OH MY WORD!! How was I supposed to work all day? Thankfully Jim did a great job of giving us a play by play.
At one point this is what he said:
Dude is going to be in so much trouble for the “childbirth is boring” comment!
I got off work a little early as we were meeting up with Holly and Timothy. Unfortunately it was to say goodbye. They left today for their new life in Detroit. We went and got frozen yogurt (which was a bad idea as the crazy lady had a panic attack as I started having flashbacks to the last time we got together with family at a frozen yogurt place to say goodbye.)
Then we went to Scheels so the little kids could ride the ferris wheel with the big kids.
At 5:45 pm CST we said our final goodbyes.
Molly was sad that Holly was leaving her!
Four of our five crazy kids!
They headed out-of-town early this morning and we heard from them about an hour ago that they made it to their half way destination.
As we were saying goodbye to our baby girl, Jim and Leana were saying hello to their new baby girl.
Cleo Susan was born at 6:47 pm EST. She weighed 7 lb 10 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. Everything with the delivery went really well. Leana did amazing, and I’m sure Jim did amazing too!
Here is our precious baby blue eyes.
(Leana and Angel gave Jim the nickname of “Jimmy blue eyes”. And so when we learned Leana was pregnant we started calling the baby “baby blue eyes.” I think she might have that nickname for a while!)
Like I said it was such an emotional day.
Experiencing joy and pride as we sent off Holly and Timothy for this next chapter in their life.
Sadness as we sent off Holly and Timothy for this next chapter in their life.
Such joy and excitement as we welcomed Cleo into the world.
At the same time it was bittersweet due to not having Mom and Dad here to experience it with us.
Regardless of the joy or sadness or excitement we give praise to God for His amazing blessings! And we are counting down the days until we can see Holly and Timothy again – not sure how many days but hopefully at Thanksgiving or Christmas.
We are counting down the days until we get to meet Cleo. Literally! Only 28 days to go! We learned last week that Tracy is going too and Patricia is still trying to see if she can come for part of the time. We have a house rented on the beach and it will be a wonderful time of hugging Cleo and kissing Cleo and squeezing Cleo. Can’t wait!
